Overview

What is All-on-6?

All-on-6 follows the same principle as All-on-4, but uses six implants to support a fixed full-arch bridge. Spreading the load across more implants may be recommended where there is enough bone, for larger arches, or where biting forces are expected to be higher.

Whether four, six or another number of implants is right for you depends on your anatomy and bite. Your clinician will explain why a particular approach is recommended.

Before you decide

Things to consider

  • Surgical risks include infection, swelling, nerve injury, sinus complications and implant failure.
  • More implants may mean more surgery and a higher fee, so we explain the reasons for any recommendation.
  • Daily cleaning and regular maintenance are essential.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

FAQs

Common questions

All frequently asked questions

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?

Both support a fixed full-arch bridge. All-on-4 uses four implants, often angled to make the most of available bone. All-on-6 uses six implants to spread biting forces further. The right number depends on your bone, jaw size and bite.
